Disturbance Analysis

What is a Disturbance Analysis Service?

GeoSpatial Partners offer services to map areas of the land disturbed during oil and gas exploration and production activities. We use high resolution imagery including optical and radar to extract features such as roads, pipelines, oil wells, buildings and other assets. We use our state-of-the-art image segmentation and classification techniques to delineate objects boundaries and subsequently determine their nature. Maps and associated statistics are provided in formats ready for ingest in the customer’s decision support system.

How is the information used?

Because imagery used in this process are ortho-rectified, we tailor the final map such that it fits within the customer’s decision system to support production management, analysis of disturbances due to exploration activities and logistic planning.

Product Value

The energy industry is seeking accurate and timely information about worldwide assets and oil/gas exploitation impact on the environment.  This spatial data collection, currently based on field survey, is time consuming and costly.  We use high resolution imagery in conjunction with our semi-automated process to produce cost effective and timely land feature maps and associated statistics.
